The Law is Changing on Digital Accessibility Compliance: Are You Ready?
A new European Accessibility Act (EAA) is coming into force on 28 June 2025. Just as with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), all companies doing business in Europe will be required to meet the minimum requirements. Falling behind in accessibility could cost them dearly – with the potential for legal action and hefty financial penalties.
How to Help Remove Barriers Facing People with Disabilities on Set
Inclusion and accessibility are essential to a thriving creative industry. When everyone can participate fully, we unlock diverse stories, perspectives, and talent that enrich our industry and connect with audiences in new, profound ways. With nearly 24% of the UK population being disabled, this presents a commercial opportunity as well as cultural gains for an industry looking to improve representation and better reflect our audiences.
Empowering or Excluding: New Research and Principles for Inclusive AI
In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) systems have grown in capability and versatility. As the capabilities of AI and automated systems expand, there is much excitement about the potential for autonomous vehicles, AI-enabled tools at school and in the workplace, and other innovations that could increase human efficiency. Many of these new technologies can help promote inclusion and accessibility. However, like all new technologies, AI can also pose risks for people with disabilities.
Why Should Accessibility be Central to Lifelong Learning in All Organizations
As the job market evolves and industries shift, lifelong learning allows employees to expand their knowledge, develop new skills, and keep pace with emerging trends and technologies. Yet, as learners embark on these educational journeys supported by their organizations, it’s essential to ensure that learning opportunities are accessible to everyone.
Accessibility Requirements Offer a Strategic Opportunity
As 2025 begins, accessibility and inclusive design are now being referred to as non-negotiable in marketing, not just when creating websites, but also when creating social media posts, creator-sourced TikToks, and email campaigns. Legislation deadlines hover over much of Europe, and governments require accessibility in marketing frameworks, so can AI tools help you get accessibility for free?
Ontario was Supposed to be Accessible by 2025. Some Advocates Say It’s Not Even Close
When Ontario crossed into 2025, it was supposed to do so as an accessible province. Instead, advocates say it’s missed its own deadline. In 2005, a unanimous vote was carried out in Queen’s Park to make the province accessible to people with disabilities within two decades.
State and Local Governments: First Steps Toward Complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act Title II Web and Mobile Application Accessibility Rule
Public entities (or “state and local governments”) offer many services on their websites and mobile applications (or “apps”). However, these services are not always accessible to people with disabilities. In April 2024, the Department of Justice (or “Department”) published a rule that sets technical requirements for state and local governments to follow to make sure that their websites and mobile apps are accessible to people with disabilities. This resource can help state and local governments figure out what they should do to comply with the rules.

India had high hopes for the Union Budget 2025-26, especially after the Chinese DeepSeek model took the world by storm, fuelling India’s AI ambitions – and it did not disappoint. Given the buzz generated by the IndiaAI mission last week, with the Centre calling for proposals to build India’s own foundational model, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman allocated ₹2,000 crore for the IndiaAI mission – nearly a fifth of the scheme’s ₹10,370 crore announced last year.
